# 17. Help, An Error Prevents Me from Generating Links

There are some instances when you will not be able to generate a UTM link. Here are a few examples that might be preventing you from using our tool effectively:

## PHP Error

- One of your tracking tags has a sentence ending with a "?" or "!" character.
  - What will happen: you might see this error:

- How to fix this issue:
  - Remove the question or exclamation mark from your tag.

## Strange "\\" mark appears in my link

- You entered a tag that contains an apostrophe, but the the saved tag appears with an unsightly "\\" between the word and the apostrophe in the UTM builder and in the link.
  - How to fix this issue: Just remove the "'" apostrophe you are using and that will remove your link concerns.
